Park it and Find it Fast with Amano M3 powered by Park Assist
January 17, 2011 – Amano McGann and Macerich announced today the end to wandering shopping malls to find your car. The two companies have launched the Amano McGann integrated M3 system, the first parking guidance system to utilize digital imaging technology for improved customer service and operational efficiency.
Also the first parking guidance system in the United States to offer a ‘Find Your Car’ option, the M3 system uses digital IP cameras to monitor each parking space and track all movement. The data collected by the cameras provides the system with the intelligence required to direct drivers to the closest open parking space or their parked vehicle. Central ceiling lights direct the driver quickly to open parking spaces – green lights for available spaces, blue lights for disabled accessible spaces and red lights for occupied spaces.
Drivers need only enter their license plate number on a touch screen panel located near the parking elevator lobbies to see a display with directions to their vehicle.
Macerich, a leading U.S. shopping mall developer, has introduced the unique Amano McGann M3 system to shoppers at Santa Monica Place in California. The ‘Park It – Find It - Fast!’ guidance system is expected to reduce the time shoppers spend in parking areas by 50 percent or more.
The technology (patent applied for) is considered a breakthrough in the transportation industry. The camera network allows for dozens of smart applications to be provided to motorists such as automatic security, dimming of lights based on occupancy and special parking rates based on which space a visitor parks.
