Bridging the Gap Between On and Off-Street Parking
Atlanta GA, March 19, 2012 – Thanks to an agreement between Amano and Parkmobile you can now use your pay by phone app here, there and now everywhere! Amano, the global leader in parking automation and Parkmobile, the leading provider of mobile payment solutions have joined forces to provide the first common on / off-street platform for pay by phone apps.
“We are very excited to have teamed with Amano McGann to provide customers a convenient and easy experience as both companies adhere to the same philosophy of offering innovative technologies and exemplify great customer service,” said Albert Bogaard, CEO of Parkmobile USA, Inc.
“Our partnership with Amano is going to be very rewarding. They bring over 40 years of experience in providing innovative technology to the parking industry,” said Albert Bogaard, CEO of Parkmobile.
Parkmobile has the App, Amano has the Parking Facility. With over 5,000 installations in North America alone, Amano has the largest off-street parking footprint in the industry. Add to that the recently released functionality of the Amano FlexScan reader, and Parkmobile users can easily enter, exit and pay at Amano equipped off-street facilities using the same app they use to pay for on-street parking. It’s quick, convenient, and easy.
Joe Survance, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Amano McGann elaborated, “Our off-street customers are looking for ways to leverage the significant buying power of the Parkmobile user base. Our seamless integration delivers just that plus the security of a detailed audit trail and reconciliation through iParcProfessional.” Joe added, “Our alliance with Parkmobile is just one example of how Amano continues to push the technology envelope to transform parking operations.”
To use Parkmobile’s service, drivers register for free by setting up an account at www.parkmobile.com, where they can also download one of the mobile apps which generate a unique QR code.
The Parkmobile member presents the Smartphone with unique QR code to the FlexScan reader at the Amano entry devices. The scanner reads the image and transmits information to the Parkmobile cloud-based server. The transaction is approved in seconds and the gate opens.
At exit the QR code is scanned, the variable rate is calculated based on the business rules of the facility, the Parkmobile cloud approves the fee and the gate opens. It’s that simple. This experience is very similar to scanning your boarding pass at the airport or using credit card in / out at the parking facility.
